Miner Mocs & Metals is a small owner/operated company based on Vancouver Island, Canada. Nikki Hollett, launched MMM in the Fall of 2014 after the birth of her second daughter. For the year and a half prior, she had co-created, and helped grow a children's footwear business with a group of friends. In this time she became pregnant and was introduced to the world of baby wearing through a close friend. Once her baby arrived she quickly became immersed in the deep community of mothers who also chose to carry their babies close. In this time, the concept of Miner Mocs was created. What initially started as a baby shoe business, has now turned into a mixture of textile and metal work.
Nikki trained years ago as a jeweller at The Kootaney School or the Arts, prior to having children. After taking a long break from the bench, and developing her sewing skills, she was eager and exited to dust off her hammers and get back to her bench. She is dedicated to creating affordable and accessible jewellery that is safe, and fun for baby to play with. Her designs also offer a unique look and are symbolic in nature. She aims to provide her customers with high quality work and customer service. She continues to take on custom designs and always has readily stocked designs on her Etsy store.
New designs are always being created in her mind and home studio so keep looking :)
